Neverland

Neverland is the fictional world featured in J. M. Barrie’s Peter and Wendy.

The novel explores Neverland which is found in the minds of children who refuse to grow up. A mischievous boy who can fly, Peter Pan spends his never ending childhood adventuring on the small island as the leader of his gang the Lost Boys.

This metaphor for eternal childhood, immortality, and escapism illustrates the melancholy nature of my Grandmothers love of collecting porcelain dolls whilst enduring grave pain awaiting surgery upon her hip.
